“implementing change”
The 12th World Conference on Transport Research took place in Lisbon, Portugal, in July 2010. We presented a paper to the conference, with two central themes–
roads are more than just a part of a transportation network for road vehicles – they are land which is open to and used by the public for many purposes;
effective stakeholder consultation by road administrators is possible – even where resources are limited.
The paper will be published in the Selected Proceedings of the Conference.
We host (on the Duncan Lawyers website) a newsletter dealing with competition and compliance issues, mainly in the Australian context, with particular emphasis on local government. The newsletter, Competition and Compliance Update, is prepared bycrgESSENTIALS. A link to the Duncan Lawyers website is on our Newsletter page.
works with government to implement policy through legislative reform.
Our core business is review of legislation and implementing change through creation of new legislation.
We have worked on legislation-related projects in many countries. Recent international legislation work has been in Indonesia, Bhutan, Azerbaijan and India. In Australia in 2010 we have worked for State departments and agencies and local government.

Legislation Newsletter deals with current issues affecting those involved in the legislative process - legislators, drafters and those who develop the policy which underlies legislation.
The current issue, April 2010, presents some statisics on who drafts what, and why, for the Australian Parliament. We also find a new meaning for the term “moral hazard” – it isn't what you think (unless you are an economist!).
